Imperial Leather began with Thomas Tomlinson Cussons, a qualified chemist born in Hull in the 1800s. Cussons began creating a variety of products including medicines, remedies and soaps in an old bleach mill at Kersal Vale in Salford which became the original Cussons factory in 1920.
